Guido Sarli, choreographer & movement director, starts his dance formation in Rome, later continuing his training in Holland, where he graduated as a dancer at the Rotterdam Dance Academy (Codarts).
In his career has worked with choreographers like Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, Stijn Celis, Gustavo Ramírez, Russell Maliphant among others.
Leading his own dance company Umma Umma Dance (Barcelona 2010), he has created several pieces awarded at international choreography competitions like Copenhagen International Choreography Competition, Certamen Internacional de Coreografía Burgos New York, “No Ballet” International Choreography Competition Ludwigshafen, Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea de Canarias Masdanza, Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid.
His creations have been presented in prestigious international festivals like, Festival Temporada Alta, Festival Salmon (Mercat de les Flors), Aerowaves- Dance across Europe, European Contemporary Dance Festival of Cyprus, Festival TNT, Mes de Danza Sevilla, among others.
He creates his own movement methodology LONA, teaching workshops in several dance academies like Institut del Teatre (Barcelona), Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Madrid, Conservatorio Professional de Danza de Burgos, Institute of the Arts Barcelona, Professional Training Course CobosMika Seeds, Conservatorio Superior de Danza Valencia, International Creative Hub (Rome), Danza 180 (Madrid), Area (Barcelona), Varium (Barcelona).
He creates works for Gratz Oper (Austria), Open Florence Festival (Italy), Hunt Company (Italy), Institute of the Arts Barcelona, Professional Training Course CobosMika Seeds (Spain), Dance Workshop Ga’aton (Israel), Conservatorio Superior de Danza Maria de Avila (Madrid) Conservatorio de Danza Reina Sofia (Granada, Spain), Danza 180 (Madrid).
Guido Sarli choreographs the fashion film HONNE directed by Nur Casadevall, also curated the movement direction of WHYLOUT Fall Winter 22/23 fashion film, directed by SERGUEIDO & MIKE ASECAS. He has also choreographed the music video Feniletilamina directed by Jordi Clusella. He also worked as assistant choreographer for the commercial Right Guard directed by Rob Legat and choreographed by Natricia Bernard.
As a director and choreographer creates two short dance films STAND ALONE and SOURCE both have been selected in several International Dance Film Festivals as: International Dance Film Festival “Fever” 2018-2020 (Spain), Choreoscope International Dance Film Festival 2019-2020 (Spain), Trip the light fantastic TV at Trip Space London 2020 (UK), Moving Images Festival 2020 (Nicosia, Cyprus), Festival Internacional Dança em foco 2021 (Brazil), Muestra Movimiento Audiovisual 2021 (México), Bienal Interancional de Dança do Ceará 2021 (Brazil), Birmingham International Dance Festival 2021 (UK), Quinzena de Dança de Almada – International Dance Festival 2021 (Portugal), Corpos em Perspectiva Festival 2021 (Brazil).
SOURCE has been selected by Cervantes Institute and International Festival of Screen Dance Fever 2020 for the special edition “Cuerpos confinados” which has been presented in 40 Cervantes Institutes around the world.
SOURCE has been awarded best video dance in the artistic category at Lens Dance Festival 2021 (Brussels, Belgium).
Currently he is working on his new short dance film RESET.
